Job Details
Job Title: RTE / Scrum Master
Location: Fort Mill, SC
This is not a textbook Agile environment we need a seasoned professional comfortable working in practical, real-world setups with ambiguity and complexity.
Team Structure
- 4 Development Teams
- 2 Scrum Masters (each managing 2 teams)
- Supporting Roles: Technical Product Owners, Project/Program Managers
Agile Environment
- Agile-driven but flexible Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid models are in use.
- Teams are component-based, not cross-functional.
- Delivery is key; we value adaptability over strict Agile orthodoxy.
- Single points of failure: Critical areas owned by one person creating risk and bottlenecks.
- Siloed teams: Operating as working groups, not true delivery units.
- Lack of standard processes: No consistent intake, reporting, or team metrics.
What You ll Be Doing
- Lead daily Agile ceremonies: standups, planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and reprioritization.
- Collaborate with Product Owners on scope, capacity, and dependency management.
- Drive delivery awareness identify risks, blockers, and process inefficiencies.
- Establish consistency in team processes, reporting, and communication.
- Coach and mentor teams to evolve from task execution to delivery ownership.
Goals for the First 6-12 Months
- Implement and standardize delivery practices across middleware teams.
- Determine whether Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches fit best then align teams accordingly.
- Break down silos and reduce single-person ownership risks.
- Enable a shift from working groups to high-functioning delivery teams.
- Brings experience from imperfect, real-world Agile setups not just theory.
- Comfortable coaching teams through change, not just facilitating meetings.
- People- and process-oriented not expected to be hands-on technically.
- Delivers measurable outcomes: team improvement, risk reduction, better collaboration.
- Proven success as a Scrum Master, RTE, or Agile Delivery Lead in mid-to-large organizations.
- Strong facilitation and planning skills able to bring clarity, structure, and momentum.
- Experience managing multiple interdependent teams and navigating organizational complexity.
- Excellent communicator and team motivator builds trust and alignment across diverse groups.
