Job Description:
Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Systems Architect to serve as the primary technical authority for the design and integration of all systems supporting the migration and modernization of DoD data center common services and tenant applications in Europe. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining the overarching technical vision, ensuring that network, compute, storage, identity, and cybersecurity designs align with mission requirements and operational objectives. The Lead Systems Architect will coordinate the work of domain experts in Cisco networking, Microsoft services, and cybersecurity, while ensuring technical designs meet performance, security, and compliance standards. This individual must possess exceptional problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to lead a cross-functional team through complex technical challenges.

The likely salary range for this position is $152,150 - $205,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.

Core Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical vision, planning, and execution strategy for the data center migration.
- Translate stakeholder business and mission needs into technical requirements and architecture designs.
- Coordinate design and engineering across network, systems, and cybersecurity disciplines.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, migration strategies, and system integration plans.
- Oversee risk identification and mitigation for technical dependencies and migration activities.
- Maintain alignment of technical work with schedule, scope, and performance goals.
- Motivate, mentor, and organize senior technical team members to achieve shared objectives.
Technical Knowledge & Leadership Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate deep expertise in enterprise networking, identity services, and access control.
- Guide migration planning for core shared services, including Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and authentication services.
- Possess functional knowledge of Cisco networking, including ACI fabric and APIC-based configurations.
- Integrate cybersecurity best practices into architecture designs and migration runbooks.
- Review and approve designs for system and service cutovers, ensuring operational continuity.
- Ensure architecture supports multi-tenant and multi-enclave requirements in compliance with DoD security mandates.
- Proficient in using automation and scripting languages relevant to their technical domain (e.g., PowerShell for Microsoft systems, Python or REST API scripting for Cisco ACI/network devices, Bash/Python for security tools and Linux-based systems).
- Experience developing scripts or using automation frameworks to streamline configuration management, system provisioning, monitoring, and reporting in enterprise data center environments.
- Skilled in leveraging vendor-specific automation platforms and APIs (e.g., Cisco NX-OS/ACI automation, Microsoft Desired State Configuration (DSC), security tool API integrations) to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Minimum Education:
