Job Details

The Senior Microsoft Security Architect position is centered around delivering advanced technical expertise in the creation, implementation, and enhancement of a secure M365 environment within our organization. The primary focus is to ensure the security and availability of our M365 applications through the formulation and execution of effective policies.

This is a hybrid position to either Tampa or Chicago.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the design, architecture, and implementation of a secure M365 environment
  • Driving the adoption of Microsoft cloud security technologies across the organization
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Microsoft security suite, specializing in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Office 365
  • Guiding and overseeing the secure adoption of Microsoft security services for M365
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender Suite, covering Defender for Cloud, Defender for Office, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Cloud Apps
  • Integration of robust identity and access management controls within the M365 environment
  • Architecting and implementing comprehensive event management and secure logging for M365 services
  • Utilizing Microsoft Purview integrated data security services, including expertise in data encryption, classification, and labeling
  • Managing Microsoft Entra ID governance and providing detailed executive-level reports on M365 security posture and compliance
  • Demonstrating exceptional analytical skills, encompassing the gathering and analysis of facts, defining problems, and proposing effective solutions
  • Adapting, integrating, and customizing existing programs or vendor-supplied package programs to align with current information systems
  • Proficiency in oral and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, maintaining productivity and focus without direct supervision

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Certifications in CISSP, CCSP, and MS-500, AZ500, SC-900 & SC-400
  • Proven track record of leading the secure adoption of Microsoft security services for M365
  • Expertise in Microsoft Defender Suite and associated tools
  • Strong experience in integrating identity and access management controls within the M365 environment
  • In-depth knowledge of architecting and implementing event management and secure logging for M365 services
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview integrated data security services
  • Practical experience in Microsoft Entra ID governance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and sustain productivity and focus
