Job Description
ECS is seeking an ARPA-H COMPASS Advisor to work remotely . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Division of Communications, Outreach, Marketing, Public Affairs, and Social Strategy (COMPASS). In this role, you will serve as a technical advisor to ARPA-H-enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As an advisor within ARPA-H, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem.
ARPA-H COMPASS plays a central role in shaping and executing the agency's comprehensive communications strategy. As the primary liaison to the media, COMPASS ensures consistent, accurate, and timely dissemination of information about ARPA-H's initiatives, personnel, and events. This division also spearheads public engagement efforts, amplifying the agency's mission and impact through a variety of platforms and formats. In addition to its external communications responsibilities, COMPASS oversees the stewardship of ARPA-H's brand, managing all digital and visual assets including the website, social media channels, and multimedia content such as photos, videos, and graphic design. Internally, the division ensures cohesive messaging across the organization and supports senior leadership in media relations and stakeholder outreach. The work of COMPASS is integral to building public awareness and trust, fostering collaboration, and driving the visibility of ARPA-H's transformative health initiatives.
As an advisor within ARPA-H COMPASS you will serve as a strategic counsel to leadership and teams across the agency on communication-related matters, typically involving high-level planning, guidance, and coordination to ensure that messaging aligns with the agency's goals, values, and public impact. You will help shape communications strategies for key initiatives, provide insight on media engagement and stakeholder outreach, and support crisis communications or high-profile public affairs efforts.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $220,000

Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years minimum professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write scientific/technical reports.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
Desired Skills
- Three years or more experience within a Federal ARPA organization.
- Two years or more experience in Federal Healthcare and/or Scientific Consulting.
- Experience supporting complex healthcare and programs of a research and development nature.
- Advanced degree (Masters) preferred based upon domain expertise.
