Opportunity Overview:
iSphere is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer / DevOps Engineer for a long-term contract based in Austin, TX. This role combines advanced software development responsibilities with DevOps, infrastructure automation, and administration of critical tools such as GitHub Enterprise, Jira, AWS, and CI/CD environments. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing code, managing cloud resources, and administering development platforms.
As a key member of an Agile team, you ll analyze requirements, design and develop software solutions, configure supporting infrastructure, and ensure optimal performance and compliance of development pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement software solutions based on requirements analysis and systems design

Create and maintain technical and design documentation
-
Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of applications and systems

Provide technical support during testing, deployment, and production rollouts
-
Administer and configure GitHub Enterprise repositories, branching strategies, workflows, and governance

Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Docker
-
Administer and customize Jira projects, workflows, custom fields, permissions, and automation rules

Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure, including provisioning EC2 instances, VPCs, IAM roles, and storage

Provision and maintain Hyper-V environments, ensuring reliable VM configurations and disaster recovery

Work collaboratively in Agile Scrum teams and contribute to sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives

Support asset and service account management processes

Utilize BMC Helix ticketing system for incident and task tracking
-
Develop and integrate webhooks into GitHub for compliance automation and monitoring
Minimum Required Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:
