Job Title: Engineering Technology System Analyst

Duration: 1 Year
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Work Model: Hybrid (On-site + Remote)


Job Description

The Engineering Technology System Analyst provides technology expertise, innovation insights, and strategic guidance to senior management while supporting the Engineering Solutions group and other divisions within the Engineering Department.

This role collaborates with Technology and Cybersecurity teams to assess, review, and test new software applications and cloud platforms, ensuring all hardware and software requests meet standards for compatibility, functionality, and security.

Additional responsibilities include supporting network infrastructure, maintaining existing systems and applications, administering Microsoft Azure storage for project data archiving, and assisting the Engineering Virtual Design and Construction team with project data systems and Bluebeam Studio customizations.

This is a part-time position (three days per week) supporting a work order nearing completion.


Consultant Responsibilities

Engineering Applications & System Management

  • Administer and support engineering applications such as:

    • Bluebeam Revu & Bluebeam Org Admin Pro

    • Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit

    • Leica Cyclone Enterprise

    • Base Map Management Service (BMMS)

    • NearMap

    • Esri ArcGIS Pro

  • Manage application performance, usage, and updates.

Software Deployment & Upgrades

  • Oversee rollout and version updates for engineering software (Autodesk, Bluebeam, Leica).

  • Customize application features to support engineering workflows.

Software & Hardware Technology Evaluation

  • Assess emerging engineering tools including Autodesk Construction Cloud, e-Builder, and advanced CAD workstations.

  • Collaborate with Technology and Cybersecurity teams to review requests and prepare analysis reports.

Documentation & Training

  • Maintain up-to-date system documentation.

  • Provide onboarding support and deliver training on engineering software tools.

Troubleshooting & Enhancements

  • Resolve application-level issues and implement minor functional improvements based on tickets or user feedback.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Attend meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements and align on technology initiatives.

  • Deliver internal Knowledge Bar workshops and presentations.

Support Engineering Leadership

  • Meet with senior management to discuss strategic goals, application roadmaps, and evolving engineering needs.

  • Lead task planning, prioritization, and coordination with stakeholders.


Technical & Experience Requirements

Required

  • 10+ years experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) sector, including:

    • AutoCAD and Revit

    • Navisworks Management

    • Document management systems

    • Project information management

  • Experience supporting Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) engineering teams.

  • Understanding or hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Technologies and Azure Data Lake environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI (documentation, reporting, visualization).

  • Expertise with PDF editing/markup tools, including Adobe Acrobat Pro and Bluebeam Revu (5+ years).

  • Ability to generate detailed application usage and license utilization reports.

  • 5+ years experience managing engineering project data workflows and 3D point cloud storage systems.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) certification.
