Job Title: Vulnerability Remediation Consultant Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 6 Months
Description: Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vulnerability Remediation Consultant to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the remediation of security vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and infrastructure. You will work closely with IT, development, and security teams to ensure timely resolution of risks, drive continuous improvement, and support compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Vulnerability Management:
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results from tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar.
  • Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk and business impact using CVSS, threat intelligence, and contextual data.
  • Track, coordinate, and validate the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Remediation Coordination:
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to ensure timely and effective remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and manage remediation plans, timelines, and escalation processes.
  • Act as a liaison between cybersecurity teams and technical stakeholders.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Produce and present regular status reports, risk dashboards, and metrics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership on risk exposure, progress, and areas requiring attention.
  • Compliance and Governance:
  • Assist in maintaining and improving vulnerability management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify gaps in current processes and propose solutions to improve detection, triage, and remediation.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on vulnerability management or remediation.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Nexpose, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).
  • Solid understanding of OS-level vulnerabilities (Windows, Linux), networking, web application security, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and workflow tracking.

Preferred:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, OSCP, or similar.
  • Experience in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
