Role: Sr. Project Manager (Commercial Lending Migrations)
Location: Multiple locations to choose from Auburn Hills, MI, Farmington MI or Frisco, TX
Onsite requirement: 2-3 days a week required
Terms: Contract with options to extend
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with proven experience leading commercial lending migration projects within large financial institutions. This role requires a strong background in managing complex platform conversions, regulatory banking initiatives, and enterprise-level integrations. The ideal candidate excels in hybrid Waterfall/Agile environments, has excellent communication and leadership skills, and is highly organized in managing large cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of commercial lending migration projects, including platform conversions such as AFS Level III to AFS Vision.
- Define and manage project scope, business requirements, and success criteria in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead governance processes including risk and issue tracking, budget documentation, and change control procedures.
- Collaborate across business units, IT teams, integration partners, and offshore resources to ensure seamless execution.
- Create and maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, budgets, scorecards, and executive presentations.
- Deliver projects in a hybrid environment using Waterfall project management practices with Agile delivery teams.
- Support the Enterprise Change Project Management Office (ECPMO) by aligning with company processes and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial lending migration project experience (must-have), ideally involving platform upgrades or legacy system replacements (e.g., AFS Level III to AFS Vision).
- Solid background in financial services or commercial banking, especially lending or servicing operations.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale integrations/conversions and regulatory banking initiatives.
- Expertise in both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies, with experience managing hybrid delivery models.
- Proficient in tools such as:
- JIRA, MS Project, Excel (project schedules)
- PowerPoint (executive presentations)
- SharePoint, OneDrive, CAPPM/Clarity (resource planning and documentation)
- Strong experience in project governance: scope, budget, risk, issue escalation, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in banking regulatory or compliance projects.
- Familiarity with working within a structured Enterprise PMO.
- Experience managing offshore teams and coordinating with integration partners in different time zones.
