Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance and Testing Specialist with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Payroll, Time & Labor, and Absence Management modules. This role is critical to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of payroll systems through rigorous testing, data validation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in ERP testing, payroll operations, and data analysis, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled professional to support the implementation and testing of Oracle Cloud modules, specifically Payroll, Time & Labor, and Absence Management. This role involves hands-on testing, data validation, and collaboration with technical teams to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional testing for Oracle Cloud Payroll, Time & Labor, and Absence Management during implementation phases.
- Develop test scripts and prepare test data for validating configurations, interfaces, and reports.
- Assist in resolving payroll, timekeeping, and leave-related errors during testing cycles.
- Analyze and troubleshoot interface issues across Oracle Cloud modules.
- Create and run complex ad-hoc queries using Oracle OTBI to support payroll and transactional data analysis.
- Collaborate with technical teams to address system and integration issues, ensuring all touchpoints operate correctly.
- Perform root cause analysis on data inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Document business processes, system configurations, and modifications.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate end-user training.
- Evaluate new or updated software programs to ensure they meet user requirements and adhere to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures, including test plans, test cases, and automated scripts.
- Monitor systems during testing to identify and resolve errors or performance issues.
- Conduct compatibility testing with third-party software to ensure operational efficiency.
- Provide detailed documentation on testing outcomes, program evaluations, and necessary corrections.
- Assess feasibility of software enhancements and develop utility programs for defect tracking.
- Design or modify procedures to address complex technical challenges and meet business needs.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience testing payroll, timekeeping, and absence management systems.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Payroll.
- Strong understanding of payroll and timekeeping principles, including data analysis.
- Proven ability to create and manage complex analytical reports.
- Experience supporting Oracle Cloud time and leave functionalities.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with large-scale ERP testing, preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud (HCM, Financials, Procurement).
- Deep expertise in payroll systems, including calculations, tax rules, deductions, garnishments, and year-end processes.
- Experience in public sector or unionized payroll environments is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with test management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret complex business requirements and develop comprehensive test scenarios.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality deliverables.

- Experience using SQL for data validation and analysis.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of the full application lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Experience in developing and enforcing QA standards and procedures.
- Skilled in designing and executing test plans and automated test scripts.
- Capable of planning and managing software QA and configuration activities.
- Basic IT knowledge including OS installation, imaging, network troubleshooting, and log analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud integration and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Payroll and Kronos Timekeeping.
- Background in cloud-based applications and automated testing frameworks for Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- ISTQB or similar software testing certifications.
- Experience working with government agencies or public sector organizations.
- Understanding of transit-related business processes and legacy systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Kronos/UKG).
