In this position...
  • You will be responsible to provide dedicated technical depth supporting application teams in controls systems for new and existing technologies, such as: Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems and Electric Brake Booster (EBB) actuation & modulation systems.
  • You will collaborate with a global cross functional team of engineers to develop and release new requirements for current and future brake controls systems.
  • You will lead pre-program work on programs using new brake controls technology.

What you'll do...
  • Ensure timely delivery of AR (Application Readiness) for brake controls technologies to support program delivery and product cycle plan.
  • Lead monthly brake controls supplier advanced technology meetings to guide the supply base on their new technology roadmap for future Ford products.
  • Be the critical "go-to" technical resource for problem solving in quality investigations, Field Service Investigations, launch issue resolution, and new product development.
  • Leader and expert in FMA (Failure Mode Avoidance), Safe Launch, Quality Operating Systems, reliability, and robustness documentation of brake controls systems.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) sign off for TDR (Technical Design Review), TVM / MCR (Material Cost Reduction), SREA (Supplier Request for Engineering Authorization), CDR (Compliance Demonstration Report)).
  • Benchmark competitor and internal brake controls systems and drive efficient technical solutions to lead the industry in optimized designs.
  • Develop brake controls technical standards, design rules, requirements, test methods, engineering. specifications, prevent actions and all corporate memory related to brake controls systems.
  • Coach, Mentor and Train members of the Global Brake Department in brake controls systems.


You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience in design and release (D&R) or development experience in chassis or powertrain controls.
  • 1+ years of experience using Teamcenter (TcE).
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint for presentations and data manipulation.

  • Self-starter who can learn to use new tools and find solutions - ability to troubleshoot & fix vehicle problems.
  • Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production in a short time.
  • Outstanding leadership and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with FMA and related quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with vehicle network communication (CAN FD).
  • Experience in supplier management and cost negotiation.
  • Awareness of, or experience with ISO 26262, Road vehicles - Functional safety.
  • Experience with complex systems, analysis tools & methods.
