Job Details

The Site Safety Officer is responsible for enforcing safety policies, ensuring OSHA compliance, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety on the job site. You will serve as the first line of defense for risk mitigation and work closely with both project managers and field personnel to ensure safe work practices are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce OSHA and company safety standards on-site
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and site walk-throughs
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
  • Monitor subcontractor and crew compliance with safety policies
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain required safety documentation, logs, and reports
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to mitigate risks
  • Serve as point of contact during safety audits or inspections by external agencies
  • Ensure all personnel have appropriate PPE and certifications
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and education

Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of construction or industrial safety experience
  • Strong understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • First Aid/CPR certification (required)
  • Experience with safety software or digital documentation tools a plus
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to dynamic site conditions
  • Reliable transportation and ability to be onsite in Boise, ID
