OUA Analyst
Remote in AL, GA, MS, FL, TX, MD, VA, DC, NC, SC, IN. IL
Contract to Hire
$50-70/hr W2 (sorry no C2C or 3rd party vendors considered)
Purpose: This position is responsible for the on-going administration, maintenance, configuration, customization, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and product support for the Oracle Unified Assurance suite used by the 24x7x365 Infrastructure Operations Center to provide monitoring, root cause identification, and incident resolution for the computing, network and transport infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities: This position will provide infrastructure management product maintenance, configuration customizations, product integrations, process and procedure automation and on-going support to maximize the functionality so as to provide reliable and sustainable monitoring and management of the compute, network and transport infrastructure. This position will also provide development consulting for new infrastructure monitoring and management requests.
Job Requirements:
- Experience administering and supporting Oracle Communications Unified Assurance suite - (3+ years)
- Knowledge of SNMP, Perl, and PHP programming (5+ years); knowledge of HTML and CSS desired
- Knowledge of Elastic and Kibana is strongly desired; knowledge of OpenSearch is a benefit
- Experience in event management, coding monitoring rules and policies, event correlation and root cause technology in a large enterprise environment with many different monitoring source systems
- Shell scripting (3+ years)
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities simultaneously.
- Experience in leading a small team in support of a user base in task management, prioritization, and ownership of continuous improvement
- 24/7 On Call support
Expected Activities:
- Provide technical leadership in Service Monitoring and Operations Management modernization
- Evaluate new requests, provide estimates, assist with prioritization
- Support lifecycle management, upgrade path, OS and Database upgrade path, license management, patching support
- Participate on projects; design and deliver solutions
- Support for new and modified monitoring rules and policies
- Create and maintain product documentation
- Provide details and insight as requested to other efforts
- Perform ad hoc queries
- Perform data investigation
- Substantial knowledge of programming language Python, Ansible, UNIX/Linux shell scripting, and JSON preferred
- Knowledge of MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle or DB2 and other database systems.
- Knowledge of systems or network administration responsibilities on one or more platforms: Unix and/or Linux
- Experience and/or familiarity with network, computing, storage, and applications management standards and conventions such as SNMP, TL1, FCAPS, ITIL, SMI-S, TMN, and BS 15000/ISO 20000 is preferred.
- Experience with other enterprise monitoring tools Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Microsoft System Center Orchestrator, Micro Focus SiteScope, Micro Focus Network Automation, CA Performance Center, Infoblox DDI, Cisco PRIME, GE PulseNet, Megasys Telenium, Nokia SAM, Nokia NSP, or Adtran AOE is a plus
- UNIX/Linux system administration
- Effective oral and written communications skills with the ability to convey complex technical issues in business terms
- Ability to build relationships, to communicate and work with all levels of management, vendors, and other internal and external groups and customers and exhibit positive influence at all levels
- Strategic thinker that can embrace, influence, and lead change
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or 5+ years experience in systems management environments and technologies is highly desired for this position
- Licenses and/or other professional certificates, such as ITIL Foundations or Manager Certification are preferred
The compensation range for this position is $50 to $70/hr W2 (C2C and 3rd party submissions will not be considered ),
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
