Position is Hybrid- will need to travel on site as need arises. Will need to be onsite for initial orientation. Generally, M-F 8am- 5pm. Weekend support when system patching with IT is ongoing. System Admin will have to work with Europe (early mornings) and Asia (late evenings) depending on what is being worked on.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Provides daily production support to assigned systems. Identifies problems and develops solutions. Develops new programs to develop specific customer needs and system upgrades. Provide on-going technical support for the development environments and deal effectively with technical problems.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

System admin supporting the Chandler Characterization floor (~10 testers, ~2 probers, ~4 handlers).

Liaison with test leadership of 5 product lines, 30 test engineers.

Process a good networking background.

Needs to be a self starter, well organized, excellent communication skills, ability to work with teams with different areas of expertise, scopes.

Needs to work well within the framework of the Client IT team.

Strong experience with Linux testers.

Knowledge of license server polling.

Knowledge of networked account, local accounts, mounted accounts and associated bottlenecks.

Move equipment to different subnets as requested.

Maintain variety of systems, installing latest SW, patches etc.

Well versed with porting testers from manufacturing network to office network.

Decommissioning and Commissioning testers as they move on or off the floor.

Setting up cronjobs to reboot systems, services periodically.

Good troubleshooting skills to understand interactions between networking, polling, delays, pings, with homegrown software.

Ability to travel to the test floor to debug issues.

Ability to work off hours when debugging issues with teams in Europe and / or Asia.

Could support engineers in other sites San Jose, Irvine, Italy on a need basis.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

System admin supporting the Chandler Characterization floor (~10 testers, ~2 probers, ~4 handlers). Install necessary updated SW requested. Troubleshooting network slowness. Moving testers, networking around in the test floor, manage incoming, outgoing tools.
