Description
We are looking for a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team on a contract with potential for a long-term role in Akron, Ohio. This position focuses on providing hardware and software support for desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and other IT equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to assisting end users effectively.
Responsibilities:
Provide hardware support for PCs, laptops, printers, servers, and audio/visual equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows XP/7 operating systems.
Assist with Active Directory and Group Policy configurations and management.
Diagnose and address network-related problems to ensure seamless connectivity.
Offer end-user training on IT applications and systems to enhance user proficiency.
Document technical issues and resolutions thoroughly for future reference.
Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications to address user concerns.
Utilize certifications like A+, Net+, Security+, or others to enhance technical support capabilities.
Collaborate with team members to maintain and improve system performance.
Contribute to configuration management and ensure compliance with IT standards.
Requirements
Minimum of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware for PCs, printers, laptops, and servers.
Strong experience with Windows XP/7 operating systems and related troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Certifications such as A+, Net+, Security+, Microsoft, or Apple certifications are preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with end users.
Strong documentation skills for recording technical issues and solutions.
