Job Details
The position focuses on remote-based, expert-level support for SAP systems, especially related to data archiving, content management, and pharmaceutical compliance (via ATTP). The engineer supports global clients using SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and legacy 4.x systems.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP issues, particularly Data Archiving processes and integration with systems like Content Server and ATTP
Provide functional and technical support across different SAP versions and landscapes (including Basis, J2EE, ABAP, NetWeaver)
Work with clients daily to improve systems and processes
Create scripts, implement best practices, and resolve data integrity issues
Take ownership of specific client accounts and act as technical/functional advisor
Contribute to a 24/7 global support team (may involve weekends and off-hours)
Technical Skill Highlights
SAP Data Archiving configuration & administration (MUST-HAVE)
Knowledge of SAP Content Server
Exposure to SAP ATTP (very relevant for pharma clients)
Broad SAP architecture knowledge: ECC, NetWeaver, Enterprise Portal, BW, HANA, J2EE, Web Dynpro, TREX
Strong troubleshooting with tools: Configtool, SDM, Visual Admin, System Analyzer
Experience with Solution Manager (SolMan) and ALM tools
Working with various OS (AIX, Linux, Windows) and DBs (Oracle, HANA, DB2)
Portal and middleware configuration, especially Single Sign-On (SSO), LDAP, SSL
Soft Skills & Attributes
Strong customer focus and communication skills
Works well independently and in virtual teams
Comfortable in high-pressure, critical issue resolution
Passionate about SAP systems and solving complex problems
Excellent documentation and presentation skills
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
10+ years in SAP (technical and functional), especially Basis, Middleware, Data Archiving
SAP certifications are a plus
Background in consulting or global/local SAP implementations is highly desirable
