Overview

As a Senior Operations Manager, you will get to work on and manage exciting products while providing daily technical expertise that ensures the business is running at its best. You will get to work with and be part of an Operations team that functions as a core component of the Services organization in owning technical infrastructure, managing multiple systems and platforms, and solving complex problems. We encourage progress and creativity. We are primarily a Microsoft environment with applications spread across multiple servers in multiple environments across the globe in Azure Cloud. These deployments range from simple low transaction models to complex high transaction models with high availability, disaster recovery and replication requirements. What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Azure Cloud Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Azure cloud environment, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure services, infrastructure management, and the ability to lead a team of cloud operations and support professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Azure Infrastructure Management:
    • Manage and optimize Azure virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
    • Monitor and maintain Azure services, ensuring high availability and scalability.
    • Implement best practices for resource provisioning, security, and cost management.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of cloud operations engineers.
    • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  3. Security and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for Azure resources.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement security measures to protect data and applications.
  4. Performance Optimization:
    • Continuously assess and improve the performance of Azure resources.
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.
    • Implement automation and monitoring solutions to enhance efficiency.
  5. Cost Management:
    • Implement cost control measures and optimize resource utilization.
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for Azure services.
    • Test and validate disaster recovery procedures regularly.
    • Ensure business continuity in case of service disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure DevOps Engineer.
  • Proven experience in managing Azure cloud environments, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud security best practices.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure DevOps).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.

What you need to have:

  • Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure DevOps Engineer.

  • Ability to see the need for and create effective standard operating procedures.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred) and minimum 10 years of professional experience.
