Piper Companies is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a financial services company specializing in retirement and reinsurance solutions for a permanent hybrid position in Durham, North Carolina (NC) . The Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure the quality, functionality, and security of web applications by conducting thorough testing, developing test cases, performing API validations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and tracking defects to resolution.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Engineer include:
- Conduct thorough testing of web applications to identify defects, usability issues, and performance concerns
- Develop and execute test cases and scripts to ensure application functionality, security, and stability
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools to validate endpoints and system integrations
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to refine requirements and communicate testing outcomes
- Document and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and validation of fixes
Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer include:
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on web and API testing
- Strong proficiency in manual and automated testing, spanning UI to database
- Expertise in database testing, with strong SQL skills
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and Agile development tools like JIRA and Xray
- Experience with API testing, using tools such as Postman
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS) preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Compensation for the Quality Assurance Engineer:
- Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000/year (USD), 10% bonus, 7.5% LTI
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
