F-35 Fleet Analytics: Senior Data Scientist

Location: Fort Worth TX

What You Will Be Doing
Are you passionate about turning complex data into powerful insights that drive real-world impact? Join our F-35 Sustainment Engineering team as a Senior Data Scientist and help shape the future of advanced fighter jet performance and reliability.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the F-35 Sustainment Reliability Analytics Team, developing cutting-edge tools and predictive models to identify and mitigate performance degradation across the fleet. You'll work alongside a dynamic team of analysts and engineers to build automated solutions and machine learning capabilities that support both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key technical interface for F-35 Air System performance data related to Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) and sustainment metrics.

- Develop machine learning algorithms and advanced data tools that enhance decision-making and system performance.

- Contribute to a web-based, user-friendly interface with built-in predictive analytics features.

- Lead data analysis efforts through all stages: collection, cleaning, modeling, visualization, and presentation.

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to uncover actionable insights, trends, and performance drivers across large, complex datasets.

- Apply statistical methods to validate hypotheses and recommend system-level improvements.

- Perform root cause analyses to support sustainment improvement initiatives and identify data-driven solutions.

- Proactively engage with stakeholders and customers, communicating findings through clear and impactful performance metric reporting.

- Maintain and organize a technical library of analytical reports and performance documentation.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of
professional experience with a related Masters
degree.

Analytical and problem-solving experience

Knowledge of data mining, statistical modeling,
and machine learning methodologies.

Experience with databases i.e. SQL, SAS.

Programming experience with a solid
foundation in data structures and algorithms.

Experience with Tableau, Business Objects or
Visual Basic.

Desired skills

Experience creating and using advanced
machine learning algorithms and techniques
(simulation, scenario analysis, clustering,
decision tree learning, artificial neural networks,
etc.).
Experience with SAP HANA, AWS, Oracle.
Expertise in software development tools such
as Docker, GitLab, Kubernetes, NPM, yarn and CI
pipeline environments.
Experience working with and creating data
architectures.
Working knowledge in modern web technologies such as Angular, Nest.JS, CSS,
HTML.
Knowledge of Agile programming
methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis, and data modeling
in Python.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $97,100 - $171,235. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
