Test Automation Engineer - UFT, Scripting, SQL | 12+ Month Contract | Austin, TX (Onsite)
Are you a test automation pro with a passion for scripting and a solid grip on CI/CD processes? iSphere is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support a long-term modernization initiative with a major Austin-based organization. This role is ideal for someone who knows how to balance business communication with technical precision especially in high-stakes enterprise environments.
What You ll Be Doing:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using UFT or similar tools to validate application functionality and performance

Write and manage scripts in JavaScript, VBScript, and Python to support end-to-end automation and test data creation

Run complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to validate backend data and support test cases

Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to define test plans, scripts, and traceability matrices

Contribute to the CI/CD process by integrating automated test scripts into pipelines

Use JIRA to track project tasks, report defects, and support agile sprint planning

Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure alignment with business expectations
Required Experience:
-
8+ years of experience with strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of users

8+ years developing automated test suites using UFT (Unified Functional Testing) or equivalent automation tools

8+ years of experience writing and executing database queries in SQL/PL-SQL

Strong scripting background in JavaScript, VBScript, and Python

Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation integration
Preferred Skills:

6+ years building and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices, test plans, and coordinating UAT

Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and managing sprints in JIRA

Exposure to Agile SDLC best practices, including user story management and backlog grooming

Experience with JIRA for task tracking, reporting, and agile boards
