Job Description:
Platform Administration:
- Manage and maintain Databricks and Snowflake environments, including user access, workspace configuration, and cluster management.
- Monitor system performance, usage, and cost optimization.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce data security policies, RBAC, and data masking.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external data governance standards.
Performance Tuning:
- Optimize SQL queries, data pipelines, and compute resources.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
Automation & Monitoring:
- Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and alerting.
- Integrate with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and DevOps teams.
- Provide technical support and training to internal stakeholders.
- 5+ years of database administration experience, with 3+ years managing Snowflake and/or Azure Databricks.
- Expertise in Snowflake administration (warehouses, roles, security) and Azure Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, clusters).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell for automation and query optimization in Azure environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Active Directory, Azure Monitor).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools for CI/CD and version control.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, data Modeling, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to support cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Certifications: Snowflake Snow Pro Core/Advanced Administrator, Databricks Certified Associate/Professional, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, or other Azure data services.
- Background in financial services or regulated industries with focus on Azure compliance standards.
