Job Summary

Job Description

DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing ad tech software; design and develop distributed backend servers using C++; use Golang to develop auxiliary services and microservices; develop and deploy containerized programs to cloud environments using Docker; perform unit testing and test-driven development using vim, Visual Studio Code, gdb, GitHub, Gprof, and Docker; use Grafana, Druid, and Slack Integrations for application monitoring and alerting; retrieve and summarize data from databases, using Presto, SQL, and Postman; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely within normal commuting distance of the worksite.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related technical field, and seven (7) years of experience developing ad tech software; designing and developing distributed backend servers using C++; performing unit testing and test-driven development using vim, gdb, GitHub, and Gprof; of which five (5) years include using Golang to develop auxiliary services and microservices; developing and deploying containerized programs to cloud environments using Docker; using Grafana, Druid, and Slack Integrations for application monitoring and alerting; using Visual Studio Code; and retrieving and summarizing data from databases, using Presto and SQL
