Job Description:
Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Quality Engineer with a reputable aviation/aerospace client.
$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR CANDIDATES RELOCATING 80+ MILES FROM NORTH CHARLESTON, SC. Paid out day 1 on contract with the client.
Location: N. Charleston, SC
Onsite expectation: 100% onsite
Pay range: $40-55/hr (Depending on Experience) (80K-110K)
Contract length: 9-12 month Contract To Hire
The Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for talented engineers to join our team. QEs work with other engineering functions and the production team to solve complex problems in the Quality Management System. QEs work close to the product every day and are empowered to think creatively to eliminate defects and improve first pass quality. QEs lead problem solving and root cause corrective action activities, perform advanced data analysis, and report out to leadership at all levels.

- Data analysis of defect trends and leadership/support of Root Cause Corrective Action and Problem-Solving activities
- Identify and lead projects to identify root cause/point of occurrence and eliminate defects
- Analyze engineering documentation to determine process capability and conformance
- Perform and advise on root cause corrective actions to address non-conformances
- Perform engineering change review and verification
- Continuous improvement of quality engineering processes
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering and/or a Technical discipline
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Production Engineering within Aerospace or another highly regulated industry
- 2+ years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts
- 2+ years of experience collecting, organizing and analyzing data, summarizing findings, and developing conclusions
- 2+ years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience designing and executing a process control system
- Experience with database management/analytics tools & software (SQL, SAS, MS Access, etc.)
- Proactive and collaborative mindset with an emphasis on positive relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
