Job Title:DC Lab Technician
# of Roles: 1
Location: Manassas, Viginia (Onsite daily)
Duration: 12+ month
*****NOTE:** Candidate will need to go to Santa Clara for 3-4 weeks in beginning of project to train with the team.***\
What the Lab Lead Technician will be doing:
- Assemble, build, and install bench top development platforms and large server systems.
- As a Lab Lead, run all aspects of lab operations, and work with lab users to provide support and equipment.
- Work with the Lab support team to get big and small lab projects completed.
- Prepare boards for detailed solder reworks to be completed by another lab.
- Run system tests. Collect and report on testing results. Screen modules and boards as part of validation.
- Support lab shipping & receiving logistics and handle inventory of equipment and materials.
- Maintain and organize the lab equipment for efficiency and continuously look for ways to improve lab processes.
- Maintain the Rack Lab inventory. Run network cables between cabinets. Rack and stack systems using a server lift.
- Work independently on new and old projects and be single point of contact.
- Setup lab benches and supervise their usage.
What We Need to See:
- Diploma/Certification, Associate or Bachelor s Degree in related field (or equivalent experience)
- Years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab in the areas of silicon bringup, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation.
- Expertise of oscilloscopes to set up, calibrate, and operate various oscilloscope models. Familiarity with different oscilloscope probing techniques and their applications.
- Fundamental knowledge of computing architectures and relevant hands-on hardware/software debug experience.
- Experience with Linux command line operation.
- Solid system-level debugging experience & familiarity with board bring-up and customer support.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in electronic circuits, systems, and components using oscilloscope readings.
- Good attention to detail, as well as clear written and verbal communications.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience with BMC, server management processors.
- Proven knowledge of server, network troubleshooting and working in a data center.
- Experience with lab test equipment setups for signal measurement using oscilloscopes and understanding to follow a schematic.
- Experience with x86/ARM architectures and accelerated GPU computing.
- Competence to perform simple solder reworks, mechanical reworks involving power tools such as a Dremel.
