Automation Tester Exp in Swagger Testing | TOSCA Certified (Onsite - Kansas City)

We are looking to hire a candidate with the skills sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients within the technology industry.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Automation Tester with strong expertise in automation testing and experience in development. The ideal candidate will focus on designing and executing test cases while contributing to automation initiatives. This role requires a solid understanding of testing methodologies, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to developing automation skills to enhance overall testing efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manual Testing:

  • Analyze requirements and design detailed manual test cases to validate software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Execute test cases, record results, and report defects with comprehensive details and steps to reproduce.
  • Perform various testing types, including regression, functional, exploratory, and usability testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thorough test coverage and alignment with project goals.

Automation Testing (Preferred):

  • Develop and execute basic automation scripts for repetitive and high-impact test cases.
  • Maintain and update test scripts to support automation initiatives.
  • Assist in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enhance testing efficiency.

Defect Management:

  • Track, log, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, qTest, or similar platforms.
  • Retest resolved issues and provide detailed feedback to developers.

Development:

  • Write prerequisite scripts in Postman.
  • Create, edit, and import schema formats like WADL/WSDL.
  • Simulate API endpoints using mock servers.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, OAuth, and integrating/testing development code in Postman.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.
  • Document test cases, results, and issues clearly and concisely.
  • Contribute to test planning and strategy discussions.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in automation testing.
  • 1+ year of experience as a developer.
  • Experience in testing with Swagger and strong hands-on expertise in web service testing.
  • Proficient in designing and executing detailed manual test cases.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, qTest).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of automation tools such as Rest Assured and/or TOSCA.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Java or JavaScript.
  • Strong experience in API development and testing using tools like Postman.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in automation testing.
  • TOSCA certification is preferred.

Other Job Details:

    • Locations: Hybrid - Kansas City.
    • Duration: 12 months with high possibility of extension.
    • Pay Rate: $50/hr on C2C basis.
    • Interview Process: Initial phone screen followed by video interview (immediate interview).
