SAP Basis Administrator

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join our IT team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and supporting SAP landscapes, including SAP HANA, BODS, BOBJ, and SLT systems. This role involves system administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and ensuring high availability of SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform SAP Basis administration across multiple SAP environments (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, BODS, BOBJ, and SLT).
  • Manage SAP HANA database installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Handle system upgrades, support packages, kernel updates, and client copies.
  • Configure and maintain Transport Management System (TMS) and handle transport issues.
  • Administer SAP BODS (Data Services) and BOBJ (BusinessObjects) environments including scheduling, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Implement and monitor SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server) for real-time data replication between systems.
  • Manage system refreshes, backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to support project and production activities.
  • Monitor system health using SAP Solution Manager and other monitoring tools.
  • Ensure security and compliance with company and SAP standards (user administration, roles, and authorizations).
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical SAP production systems on a rotational basis.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.
  • Strong experience with SAP HANA installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Solid knowledge of SAP BODS, BOBJ, and SLT administration.
  • Experience with SAP NetWeaver, ABAP/Java stacks, and Solution Manager.
  • Proficiency in OS (Linux/Unix/Windows) and database management concepts.
  • Experience in system migrations, upgrades, and refreshes (including SUM/DMO).
  • Understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations for SAP systems.
  • Familiar with cloud-based SAP deployments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate SAP Basis or SAP HANA preferred.
