AI Data Engineer
The Opportunity:

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health ( ARPA-H ) , helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You'll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You will leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You'll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs and facilitating commer cia lization of successfully developed technologies.
You'll serve as a data engineer with an AI focus helping clients to develop stakeholder management strategies, establish new business processes, and complete research and analysis to determine viable solutions. You will be responsible for managing incoming requirements, facilitating e nga gements within offices and across the Agency, and being readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging client requests. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience with backend data management, including SQL or NoSQL, and database architecture design
- 3+ years of experience with React.js and Cloud Architecture
- 3+ years of experience with Large Language Models ( LLM ) , Retrieval-Augmented Generation ( RAG ) architecture, and Prompt Engineering
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python or JavaScript
- Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15
- Experience using Micro sof t Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced start-up environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with backend server routing, including localized NGINX
- Experience with storage of Chat History and Documents in Database and Blob Storage
- Experience with privacy and security measures for handling sensitive data and developing security documentation
- Experience with API Development and Integration
- Experience with Containerization, including Docker or Kubernetes, CI / CD pipelines, and monitoring and logging tools such as ELK stack, Pro met heus, or Grafana
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
