Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with a strong background in data analysis to design, develop, and maintain robust BI solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Power BI, SQL, and DAX, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The candidate will work closely with members in our Data and Analytics group along with Executive sponsors

You'll collaborate across business units to understand requirements, model data, and create intuitive visualizations that tell a compelling data story.



Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that align with business objectives.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand KPIs, and translate needs into BI solutions.

  • Write optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources.

  • Develop and maintain data models, using DAX to create calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.

  • Analyze trends, identify opportunities, and provide actionable insights from large data sets.

  • Optimize report performance, data refresh logic, and user experience.

  • Document report requirements, definitions, and data flows for transparency and reusability.

  • Support self-service BI initiatives by training users and promoting BI best practices.



Required Qualifications



  • 5+ years of experience in Power BI development and data analytics.

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Expert-level proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language) and SQL.

  • Understands architectural principals, and can optimize data retrieval and storage, using architecture best-practices, while ensuring compliance to security, data governance, and data management; including but not limited to CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and ETL processes.

  • Proven ability to distill complex data into intuitive visualizations and workflows.

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.

  • Documentation: Creates comprehensive documentation for Power BI solutions



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse).

  • Familiarity with Power Query (M Language) and Power BI Service administration.

  • Background in finance, operations, or other data-intensive domains.

  • Photography as a hobby or visual design interest-a plus, as it aligns with storytelling through data and visual composition.

  • Power BI certifications are a plus.
