Description
We are looking for a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security and access control systems to ensure optimal functionality. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and provide tailored solutions to meet customer security requirements.
Responsibilities:
Travel to customer locations to install and configure video surveillance, security, and access control systems using equipment such as Verkada, Hanwha, and Honeywell.
Perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair access control components including electric strikes, magnetic locks, card readers, sensors, and door handles.
Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to correctly install equipment in designated areas.
Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations related to access control and fire safety systems.
Collaborate with customers to understand their security needs and design customized solutions.
Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and services performed, adhering to company policies and customer expectations.
Provide technical support and guidance to customers on system usage and maintenance.
Test and verify system functionality after installation or repair to ensure operational efficiency.
Stay updated on advancements in access control technologies and integrate them into service offerings.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in access control, cable installation, or related fields.
Proficiency in network cabling, fiber-optic installation, and low voltage systems.
Strong knowledge of physical security systems and audio-visual technologies.
Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with local codes and regulations for access control and fire safety.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple projects.
