Sr. System / Application Administrator
Location: Bethesda, MD (4 5 days onsite initially, then hybrid 2 days onsite)
Duration: 12 18 months
Clearance: Public Trust

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Sr. System/Application Administrator to support NIH's new Visitor Management System - a Microsoft-based COTS solution that replaced the manual paper process. The Administrator will stabilize, manage, and support the system, formalize operational processes, and work closely with NIH stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, patch, and monitor the Visitor Management System (Microsoft-based COTS)
• Manage underlying Windows/SQL Server environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve application/system issues in real time
• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ongoing support
• Collaborate with NIH stakeholders (including IT, campus police, and security staff)
• Ensure system security and compliance (contains PII data)
• Provide technical guidance and communicate effectively with end-users and leadership

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in System Administration / Application Support roles
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, patching, and monitoring
• Experience with enterprise/COTS applications in production environments
• Strong troubleshooting and process documentation skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Prior federal or public sector experience preferred
• ITIL or related certification a plus
