Current Lead Engineer with 8 or more years of experience with Cloud-based platform and experience development.

The Lead Full Stack Engineer Performs software engineering activities in all layers of the stack, from setting up the database to programming in the back-end and the appearance at the front-end. The Lead Full Stack Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead Full Stack Engineer Is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

On any given day you may:

Lead by example doing hands-on platform, backend, and frontend development

Mentor team members to level up our overall skill set

Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback

Dig into system issues to understand and fix the cause, not the symptom

Design and implement changes in our development pipeline and cloud infrastructure

Investigate and propose new ideas, frameworks technologies, or processes

The successful candidate will also have experience with:

Azure Cloud Services

Designing solutions architecture

Building scalable web platform

Building RESTful APIs

Working with Infrastructure and security as code

Building high performing teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8 or more years of progressive experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
  • Proficient understanding and tech-lead level experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Scala, etc.)
  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot
  • Experience with JSON, RESTful web services and client-server interactions
  • Experience with highly scalable websites and web services (Vue.js, Angular etc.)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Azure
  • Environment management/orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree

WAH requirements:
  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$129,300 - $177,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
