Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer
Location: 100% Remote
Type: Contract
Must Have: Experience with IBM Cognos
Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Power BI Developer with strong reporting, dashboarding, and data modeling skills. The ideal candidate will also bring hands-on experience with IBM Cognos in both development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.

  • Create complex data models and DAX scripts for performance-optimized solutions.

  • Utilize Power Query for ETL and data transformations.

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reports.

  • Leverage Power BI Service for report sharing, access control, and collaboration.

  • Manage end-to-end BI projects from requirement gathering to deployment.

  • Work with Cognos to build, modify, and maintain enterprise reports.

  • Handle both multi-dimensional and relational data structures.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Power BI development.

  • Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query.

  • Working knowledge of IBM Cognos and ability to update existing reports.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

  • Power BI certification is a plus.
