Job Title: CAD Designer
Location: The Woodlands, Texas

Type: Contract
Compensation: $40 - $55 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in producing high-quality Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) from engineering sketches for both internal use and client delivery. You will also assist in creating mechanical design and detailed drawings necessary for shop fabrication, under the guidance of your supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather and analyze information required for design and drafting, including specifications and data sheets, as well as outside vendor documents.
  • Review 3D models when available to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere to our Document Management System for drawing numbering, editing, and issuing.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID, and SmartPlant Instrumentation software to prepare high-quality P&IDs and instrumentation schematics.
  • Develop detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and shop fabrication drawings.
  • Collaborate effectively with other disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with a solid understanding of fabrication drawing layouts.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards relevant to the industry.
  • Experience with SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, and SmartPlant 3D is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Inventor software is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to work independently while achieving objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with various disciplines.

Education and Experience:
  • An Associate Degree or completion of 2 years of college coursework, or 5 years of job-related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in CAD design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
