Leads, mentors, and manages software engineering teams to continually improve the security posture of Uber's services and infrastructure. Sets organizational direction by identifying technical priorities and opportunities, managing expectations, and considering tradeoffs. ---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Engineering Manager to lead our engineering security team. In this role you will be responsible for defining and setting our organizational-level security strategies, designing and building our next-generation security platforms and services, managing a team of highly skilled software and security engineers, and collaborating with product and operations teams to improve Uber's security posture at scale and across private and public clouds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and security, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale production systems and managing and mentoring engineering teams.

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • 5+ years full-time work experience in software engineering, product development and/or security engineering prior to Engineering Management experience
  • 4+ years full-time Engineering Management work experience
  • Ability to problems solve and make complex decisions with incomplete information in ambiguous situations and environments
  • Great interpersonal skills, deep technical ability, and a track record of successful execution in engineering security or product development at cloud-scale.
---- What the Candidate Will Do ----
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
  • Prior experience in leading teams over multiple locations, and working across multiple in-house engineering organizations
  • Familiarity with development of production services on public cloud providers (Google Cloud Platform, OCI, Azure or AWS).
  • In-depth knowledge of security software frameworks, tools, and best practices
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year.
