Job Details

Responsibilities:

Leadership: Lead the HVAC engineering team, providing guidance and direction throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Planning: Develop and review project plans, specifications, and design documents for HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, including proficiency in CA and NCEES building codes.

Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to seamlessly integrate HVAC systems into the overall project design.

Design Expertise: Design and analyze HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork design, and energy efficiency considerations.

Analysis and Simulation: Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate HVAC system performance, energy efficiency, and thermal comfort.

Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess existing HVAC systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and budgets related to HVAC systems.

Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications ,and drawings for construction documentation.

Construction Support: Provide support during the construction phase, responding to requests for information (RFIs)and conducting site inspections specific to HVAC systems

Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in HVAC engineering and MEP systems.

Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

Other duties as determined by management.

Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable. 8+ years of extensive experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design and coordination of HVAC systems. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including proficiency in CA building codes. Proficiency in using industry software and tools for HVAC system design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculation software). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills specific to HVAC engineering. Strong communication and collaboration skill Project management experience is a plus.
