Job Title: Splunk Engineer
Location: Doral, Florida, USA Onsite
Employment Type: Long-term Contract (7-Year Program Duration)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to support the Department of Defense (SOUTHCOM) in enhancing cybersecurity monitoring and analytics capabilities. The successful candidate will implement Splunk engineering solutions, support complex data migration activities, and play a critical role in safeguarding mission operations across multiple federal agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Review existing architecture and contribute improvements supporting CDM program objectives
Implement Splunk engineering solutions enabling efficient data migration and ingestion
Conduct data onboarding, normalization, enrichment, and SIEM platform integrations
Manage API-based data access and ensure interoperability with external tooling such as Cribl
Troubleshoot and resolve complex deployment issues, including performance and indexing optimization
Perform capacity planning and monitoring for optimal operational health
Maintain current knowledge of Splunk advancements, technical add-ons, and cyber defense tooling
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Active United States Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Expertise in Splunk Enterprise and Enterprise Security (ES) engineering and administration
Proficiency with SPL, dashboard development, REST APIs, and security data onboarding
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash
Knowledge of cybersecurity monitoring and incident response practices
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills in mission-critical environments
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting Department of Defense cybersecurity initiatives
Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, ServiceNow, RedHat, SolarWinds, Tenable, and SD-WAN architectures
