Job Title: Tandem Developer - Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional II

Location: Berkley Heights, NJ

Note: Tandem is now (HPE NonStop) systems

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and evaluate complex business problems and their impact within transaction processing and back-office application systems.
2. Create and develop system applications utilizing standard concepts, practices and procedures.
3. Test applications to ensure high quality and performance to required specifications.
4. Coordinate and implement new system installations. Perform system walk-through of technical and operational features for new or existing systems.
5. Resolve software support issues related to application design specifications.
6. Effectively communicate technical information to on-shore and off-shore team members and to non-technical audiences.
7. Follow established standards and procedures to develop reliable low-maintenance source code.
8. Create and maintain application design specifications as needed and report to a development manager.
9. Monitor upcoming new development activity for potential impact to overall environment.
10. Work with Business Analysts to refine project functional requirement documentation. Ensure that the finished product is delivered on time, with quality.
11. Work closely with other groups like product, business analyst, quality assurance, and project management resources throughout delivery of solutions
12. Contribute to the team effort by performing related tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, or related field of study (equivalent work experience may be considered)

Job Related Experience:

1. 4+ years experience in software development life cycle environment.
2. Payment processing industry background
3. Experience with HP technology and utilities
4. Knowledge if switch network interfaces, ATM/POS authorization, Host Interfaces.
5. Background in Tandem utilities, transaction simulators and source repositories

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

1. Able to demonstrate strong leadership, including taking ownership for major project initiatives, working effectively in a team environment, as well as on an independent basis.
2. Able to handle changing priorities and multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
3. High degree of experience in requirements analysis and development of technical specifications and applications.
4. Strong technical experience with design, development, modeling, application performance tuning, and unit/integration/performance testing.
5. Strong professional verbal and written communication skills
6. Experience developing software using C/C++/TAL/pTAL/COBOL85 is strongly preferred
7. Previous EPOC/Base24 experience is a definite plus
8. Familiarity with Agile methodology

Job Title: Tandem/Card Management Developer - Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional II

Location: Berkley Heights, NJ

What you will do:

• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Produce well designed, testable, efficient quality code
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Support continuous improvement and innovation
• Produce quality documentation for the support teams
• Troubleshoot / Diagnose issues and identify appropriate solutions

What you will need to have

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing and implementing software applications and hands on experience with large scale applications at large institutions with technologies Tandem/ HP Nonstop / COBOL / TAL.
• Experience with data replication using Shadowbase or GoldenGate.

What would be great to have

• Experience with REST APIs
• Strong experience on event-based architecture leading strategy, governance and execution of event-based architecture at large institutions.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience with analytics and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience in the day-to-day practicalities of Agile software Product Development Lifecycles such as Scrum, SAFe, DAD, Lean Agile, Kanban, etc.
