This is a team of talented engineers who are responsible for all aspects of the Splunk platform. The team is responsible for architecting, administering and developing a multi-terabyte per day Splunk cluster. The team provides full-service support and Center of Excellence (CoE) level consulting to Workday's Security Organization.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. Your Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor and provide real-time, meaningful, sensitive and constructive feedback to direct reports.
- Grow the team and align project assignments with career development goals and company vision.
- Set team-level and engineering best practices around development and documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with other teams and individuals that results in stronger relationships and a greater benefit to everyone involved.
- Manage complex technical projects and provide business and technical guidance as needed.
- Successfully deliver enterprise-ready projects ranging from seed initiatives to large scale projects that impact multiple areas of the company.
- Inspire and promote creativity and innovation while managing missteps and mistakes as opportunities to grow and learn.
Requirements
- Several years of technology industry experience in designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade Splunk solutions for large-scale data.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering (incl. engineering management experience) with demonstrable leadership, management, and coaching skills.
- Practical knowledge of Linux systems.
- Knowledge of Storage, Networking, Systems, configuration management.
- Experience in scripting languages (Bash, Python etc.).
- Experience working with automation solutions (Terraform, Chef, Ansible etc).
- Experience with cloud platforms: OpenStack, VMWare, Kubernetes, AWS. Azure etc.
- Knowledge of CI / CD principles and best practices.
