Job Description

Assists in the design and development of biomedical-related engineering systems; possesses knowledge of tools, design techniques and underlying theory relevant to their discipline; Demonstrates good written and verbal skills; regularly summarizes and communicates the results of work efforts to project team members and management in a clear, concise and timely manner; accomplishes assigned tasks and manages multiple priorities. Understands relevant components of the Division's quality management system and participates in safety risk management activities. Is a self-starter who excels in a multi-disciplinary development environment. Communicates effectively in writing and conversation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in engineering or related field required.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Master's preferred
  • Have solid knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) concepts and execution, including design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), and virtual and augmented reality
  • Be familiar with or has experience in medical anatomic guide design and manufacturing
  • Be well-versed in all 3D printing technologies and post-processing techniques
  • Possess a high level of communication skills and can collaborate with other medical professionals including engineers, radiologists, surgeons, medical specialists, qualified healthcare professionals (QHCPs. e.g. nurse practitioners and physician's assistants). radiology technologists, and healthcare technology management technicians
  • Be flexible and innovative, working through design iterations to meet the needs of the provider, and can efficiently and effectively solve problems in real-time
  • Have education and exposure to FDA-compliant quality management techniques
  • Have a skill set that includes a high level of attention to detail and a high level of work standards, including documentation and the development of standard operating procedures
  • Focus on continuous process improvement in the AMU
  • Be experienced in using engineering design techniques to build and manufacture functional prototypes and end parts to meet the needs of the provider
