Job Title: GSW Database Modelling

Location: Melbourne, FL 32904 or Bellevue, WA 98004 (Preferred On-site, open to Remote)

Experience Requested: 6 8 Years

About the Role

We are seeking a Database Modeler / Data Architect to design, develop, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both operational and analytical needs. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing data models, while ensuring best practices in design and architecture are followed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and analytical applications.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

  • Perform data profiling and analysis to detect data quality issues and recommend improvements.

  • Apply best practices in normalization, denormalization, and indexing strategies.

  • Lead data architecture discussions and present solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Mentor and guide junior data modelers/architects within the team.

  • Continuously evaluate data modeling tools and techniques to enhance efficiency and productivity.


Must-Have Technical / Functional Skills

  • 5+ years of proven experience in data modeling, data architecture, or similar roles.

  • Strong SQL proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

  • Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or IBM InfoSphere Data Architect.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.


Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Power On Reliance, XA21, Power Systems, EMS.

  • Advanced experience in data profiling, data governance, and optimization techniques.

  • Strong presentation and leadership skills for driving architecture discussions.


Education

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
