JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced PSOC (Physical Security Operations Center) professional to serve as the technical expert and primary point of contact for critical physical security applications, specifically Lenel OnGuard and Genetec security platforms. This hands-on technical role is essential to maintaining and enhancing the security infrastructure that protects critical operations. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle management of these applications, including development, administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Your day-to-day will involve managing both Windows and Linux server environments, configuring physical security tools to meet operational requirements, and handling JIRA tickets for your assigned applications. You'll work closely with the physical security team to ensure all security solutions meet organizational needs while collaborating with vendors to implement patches, upgrades, and system enhancements. This position requires someone who can balance technical expertise with strong communication skills, as you'll be creating detailed runbook documentation and establishing yourself as the go-to resource for physical security application support.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver with deep technical knowledge of Lenel OnGuard and Genetec platforms, combined with strong server administration skills across Windows and Linux environments. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy building relationships with stakeholders, and take pride in maintaining critical infrastructure. This is a 100% on-site position in the Dallas area, requiring local candidates who can participate in in-person interviews and be present daily to support this critical infrastructure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, configure, install, and administer Lenel OnGuard and Genetec security applications to meet organizational requirements
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all physical security application support, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Perform Windows and Linux server and system administration for physical security platforms
Manage and respond to JIRA tickets for assigned applications, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
Configure physical security tools and integrate them with existing systems per business and security requirements
Create and maintain comprehensive runbook documentation detailing applications, server configurations, vendor recommendations versus actual implementations, and operational procedures
Manage application lifecycle including patches, upgrades, resource changes, performance optimization, and system enhancements
Collaborate closely with the physical security team to ensure solutions effectively meet operational and security needs
Partner with physical security application vendors (Lenel, Genetec) for technical support, system optimization, and implementation of new features
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with primary stakeholders across IT, security, and business units
Monitor system performance, identify potential issues proactively, and implement preventative measures
Participate in security projects and initiatives as directed by leadership
Provide technical guidance and training to team members and end-users on physical security applications
Ensure all systems comply with industry best practices, security standards, and organizational policies
Perform other duties related to physical security applications as requested by leadership

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Proven hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard and Genetec security platforms including installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting
Strong application development skills for physical security systems with ability to customize and enhance platform capabilities
Solid Windows Server and Linux Server administration experience including system configuration, maintenance, and optimization
Experience managing IT service tickets through JIRA or similar ticketing systems with strong documentation practices
Demonstrated ability to configure and integrate physical security tools and hardware with software platforms
Strong technical writing skills with experience creating detailed runbook documentation and standard operating procedures
Experience managing application patches, upgrades, and system maintenance in production environments
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams to implement technical solutions
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with systematic approach to problem resolution
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and establish yourself as a trusted technical resource
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple priorities and projects
Customer service mindset with focus on building positive stakeholder relationships
MUST be local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area
MUST be available for in-person interview
MUST be able to work 100% on-site in Dallas, TX

NICE-TO-HAVES

Professional certifications related to Lenel OnGuard or Genetec platforms
Experience in utility, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated industries
Knowledge of physical access control systems, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems
Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and security architecture
Experience with database administration (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
Background in IT security or cybersecurity principles and best practices
Project management experience or formal project management training
Scripting or programming skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation
Experience with backup and disaster recovery procedures for critical applications
Understanding of compliance frameworks and audit requirements
Previous experience working in high-availability, 24/7 operational environments

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent professional experience in physical security systems, server administration, or IT operations will be considered. Relevant technical certifications and hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard and Genetec platforms are highly valued.

PAY & BENEFITS SUMMARY

Competitive hourly rate: $60/hour
