Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: Hybrid in Dublin, CA (1 day a week on-site)
Duration: 6-12 months+ (potential contract-to-hire)

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This Solution Architect role (Enterprise Technology Architecture) reports to the Manager of Systems Architecture and is based in Dublin, CA. The position is responsible for driving IT strategy and roadmaps, including the evaluation, selection, and design of technology solutions to meet the needs of various IT and business portfolios (such as Supply Chain and Store Systems). This is a highly visible role that involves significant interaction with internal IT and business teams as well as external technology vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct TCO and ROI analyses to determine the financial impact of architecture solutions.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations on architecture strategies and solutions to audiences at all levels, including executives.

  • Participate in 5-year strategic planning and annual budgeting cycles.

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define roadmap enablers.

  • Lead the research, evaluation, and selection of hardware/software technologies and define product standards.

  • Develop, document, and maintain architecture standards and patterns.

  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of architectural and project outputs that align with expected business outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Experience with major retail environments or consulting firms preferred.

  • 5+ years in Enterprise or Technology Architecture roles.

  • Experience with Veritas NetBackup.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft HCI (highly desirable).

  • Experience with Brocade switches.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Supply Chain & Logistics Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain functions (Plan-Source-Make-Deliver).

  • Technical proficiency in supply chain systems and warehouse/logistics operations.

Infrastructure & Architecture:

  • Enterprise SAN and backup solutions.

  • Storage: HPE 3PAR, Primera, Alletra.

  • Fibre Channel: Brocade X7 Directors, G720, G730 switches.

  • Backup: Veritas NetBackup.

Server & Virtualization Technologies:

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8, 9).

  • Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware.

  • Management Tools: SCVMM, vCenter.

  • Server Hardware: HPE Synergy.
