Our Corporate Treasury Engineering team is a world leader in developing quantitative techniques and technological solutions that solve complex and commercial business problems. We partner with our firm's treasurer and other members of Corporate Treasury senior leadership to manage the firm's liquidity risk, secured and unsecured funding programs, and the level and composition of consolidated and subsidiary equity capital and to invest any excess liquidity. An exciting confluence of computer science, finance and mathematics are being used to solve for what our shareholders would like from us - a high return for the right risk taken.


GS Bank Engineering team is responsible for supporting the various Cross Product functions GS Bank. This includes Cross Product Regulatory Controls, Centralized Loan Pledge Platform and Third-Party Deposit Sweep Platform and FDIC Deposit Insurance Calculator. An ever evolving business and regulatory environment demands ongoing innovation to maintain scalable solutions in a changing world.


The Cross Product Regulatory Controls team builds and manages applications that validates 1mm daily over-the-counter trades in real time and assess $3Bn worth of loans and securities to aggregate and generate reports for Reg W 23A Regulatory reporting. Working directly with the compliance and legal teams, we gather requirements and provide solutions that meet the dynamic business and regulatory environments.


We use the latest tech stack including MongoDb, Kafka, Spring Boot micro services, Kubernetes and are constantly looking to use modern technology to solve business problems. We are adapting cloud strategy and are in the initial stages of the build and migration of our applications.

Your Impact


In this role, you will be provided unique insight into the firm's business activities and asset strategy. You will be responsible for defining, developing software's to analyze data, built metric calculators, automated tools to help business get insights into data, predict scenarios, and perform better decision making to reduce interest expenses for the firm. This front to back model gives software developer's window into all aspects of CT planning and execution while working on cutting edge industrial technologies.


In this role, you will be contributing to design, develop and support digitally advanced financial products by collaborating with globally located cross functional teams. You will drive initiatives to analyze existing software implementations to identify areas of improvement, participate in prioritization of these improvements and provide estimates for implementing new features. Contribute to building team processes and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - demonstrated ability to learn technologies and apply.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally.
  • Can apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong programming experience in at least one compiled language - Java, Python
  • Experience in designing highly scalable, efficient systems.
  • Web technology design experience is plus.
  • Experience with micro-service architecture, Spring, messaging queues like Kafka
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$200000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
