Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-based network environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve advanced network issues to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
- Administer network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers) and network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VoIP).
- Lead network upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize network security tools and protocols, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and VPNs, to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Perform regular network risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and implement remediation measures as needed.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network administrators and IT staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and service providers on network solutions, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA).
- Manage and maintain network monitoring and management systems to ensure timely detection and resolution of network anomalies.
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and provide escalation support as required.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies, tools, and processes to enhance network reliability and performance.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and network-related business continuity initiatives.
Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent; advanced certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in network administration and support.
- Strong expertise in network design, administration, and troubleshooting for complex enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with network security concepts, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and automation/scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.
