The Windows Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-level Windows infrastructure within a highly regulated global banking environment. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server technologies, Azure cloud services, automation via PowerShell scripting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
The engineer will collaborate closely with global technology teams, ensuring stability, scalability, compliance, and security of the bank s infrastructure, while contributing to modernization initiatives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Windows Server environments (on-premises and cloud-hosted).
- Manage and optimize Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related core Windows services.
- Deploy, configure, and administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid solutions.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline operational tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce risk.
- Support patch management, system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Ensure system compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce access controls, implement hardening standards, and respond to vulnerabilities.
- Provide Level 3 engineering support for incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Document system designs, operational procedures, and technical standards.
- Participate in global infrastructure projects, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years experience in Windows Systems Engineering within enterprise environments, preferably financial services.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring).
- Expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and reporting.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and hybrid cloud integration.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and configuration tools (e.g., SCOM, SCCM, Intune).
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in banking or other highly regulated industries.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross-functional team environment.
