Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer
Location: Riverwoods, IL
Duration: 9+ Months Contract

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible etc.), networking, security, and automation (Bash, Python, Jenkins etc). You will work closely with various departments in the organization to ensure the cloud infrastructure/services meet business needs and adhere to security and compliance standards.

Must Haves:

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with cloud infrastructure.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog and Splunk.

Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Jenkins, Python, Bash).

Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform services/solutions such as VertexAI, Google API Services, BigQuery, PGA etc.

Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking concepts and design principles.

Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments.

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with Palo Alto network security solutions.

Google Cloud Platform certifications.

Knowledge of Private Google Access (PGA) and its implementation.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, deploy and maintain modular cloud-based systems in Google Cloud Platform (PGA, VertexAI, BigQuery etc.).

Automate Infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using solutions like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins etc.

Ensure efficient use of cloud resources, and adhere to security best practices (firewalls, ACLs etc.)

Collaborate with various teams to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, and automate processes.

Support AI and machine learning initiatives.

Provide cloud support and make recommendations based on client needs.

Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
