OVERVIEW:
Implementing and enhancing their Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system. This type of ETRM software is used across the industry of oil / gas / energy commodities (trading)
There is a multi-year roadmap of business-critical projects involving OpenLink (especially for new LNG operations), and will be dealing with potentially multiple implementation partners. The application environment has a number of integrations so test
Background and Scope of Project: they have multiple initiatives in flight and planned related to Energy Trading Management Risk Management (ETRM) software (they use OpenLink). There are very tight timelines that could impact the business if missed.
This is definitely an effort with lots of moving parts, several degrees of freedom, and all sorts of challenges from vendor management to internal stakeholder management and (lack of) internal resource availability
We want to be transparent that this learning curve will be close to vertical but the PM will have plenty of IT management top cover for the vendor/executive stakeholder mgmt.
