Job Title: IT Security Officer
Location: Remote (Pacific Time)
Employment Type: 3+ months contract (~30-40 hours/week)
Compensation: $85.00-100.00 per hour (W2 only)
About the Role:
Partnered with a client who is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Officer with experience in banking or financial institutions to join our IT Security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance, security auditing, and Microsoft Office 365 security implementations. This role is critical to safeguarding information assets and ensuring that our client meets all applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Compliance & Governance
- Implement and maintain information security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with regulatory frameworks such as FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards
- Lead audits, risk assessments, and security reviews to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Prepare detailed documentation and reports for regulatory bodies and senior management.
- Security Implementation & Monitoring
- Implement and manage Microsoft Office 365 security features including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Conditional Access Policies, and Secure Score optimization.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure security controls are effectively integrated across all systems.
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or Microsoft Security certifications (e.g., MS-500, SC-200) preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years' of multiple domains of IT experience such as networking, servers, architecture, vendor management, operational support, end user support, and development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT Security role within a banking environment with framework experience in FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards
- Proven track record in managing or supporting security compliance and audit programs.
- Experience with Office 365 security tools, configurations and security compliance in banking environment.
- Experience working with internal and external regulatory, compliance, and audit functions.
- Experience defining, capturing and reporting key metrics on I.T. systems health and security to senior leadership.
- Experience analyzing and documenting system, networking and security designs and implementations.
