Job Details
Job Title: Data Modeling Specialist
Location : Remote
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Design and develop high-quality data models using industry-standard modeling techniques and tools.
Conduct data profiling and analysis to assess data quality, structure, and relationships.
Optimize data models for performance, scalability, maintainability, and usability.
Define, document, and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and governance guidelines.
Support data governance efforts by aligning data models with organizational data policies and compliance standards.
Work closely with DBAs and developers to implement models across relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database environments.
Lead or participate in data model reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data modeling, data architecture, and data management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
Expertise with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin, PowerDesigner, or similar)
Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases
Experience with data profiling and metadata management
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of performance tuning related to data models is a plus
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
