We are seeking highly skilled Data Cable Installers to join our team at our state-of-the-art data center. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing and managing data cables to interconnect network switches within our data center frames. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our network installations. In this role you will be setting up 72 size frames with 1K cables per frame. The 42U frame connection sizes range from 500 to 1100 per frame. Once the frames are built, they are packaged up and shipped ready to use for the end client. Additionally, you will be using pre-cut looped fiber and must adhere to proper looming standards.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure all cable installations meet IPC620 standards for quality and reliability.

- Perform precise cable routing, management, and labeling to maintain an organized and efficient data center environment.

- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal network performance and compliance with industry standards.

- Collaborate with network engineers to design and implement structured cabling systems that support existing and future network infrastructure needs.

- Document installation processes and maintain accurate records of the data center network configuration.

- Adhere to safety protocols and data center security regulations.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in data cable installation, specifically within data centers.

- Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 or
1. Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) - This is the basic certification from FOA and includes general knowledge about fiber optics, including how to handle, install, and test fiber optic cabling. It covers essential practices such as maintaining proper bend radiuses and cable management.
2.FOA Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT) - Focused more on the premises (including data centers), this certification covers fiber, copper, and wireless installation. It addresses installation techniques for ensuring the integrity and performance of fiber optic cables.
3. FOA Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing & Maintenance (CFOS/T) - This certification is more specialized in testing and maintenance of fiber optic systems, which includes inspection and troubleshooting. While it includes some aspects of termination, its focus on maintaining system integrity is crucial for those managing installed cables.
4. FOA Certified Fiber Optic Specialist, Outside Plant (CFOS/O) - For those working with fiber optic cables in external environments, this certification focuses on the specifics of outside plant fiber optics, which also applies to large data centers and campus environments where external fiber routing is common.

- Familiarity with various types of network cables (e.g., Ethernet, fiber optic) and connectors.

- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations.

- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and network diagrams.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and precision in execution.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
