Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a mid-level IT Business Analyst to join one of our clients' API teams!

Description

The API Office acts as a centralized point of engagement for IT teams developing, publishing, and consuming APIs. Responsibilities include facilitating API governance, stewarding API strategy, and defining standards and best practices for operating within an API-driven ecosystem. The team also partners with solution teams to provide consultation and guidance, including proactive engagement with application development teams, road mapping, reporting, and product management for API gateway and event-driven architecture capabilities.

An IT Business Analyst is needed to support these efforts. This role will contribute to critical responsibilities such as work coordination, product administration and reporting, and serving as the team's Scrum Master.

The IT Business Analyst will collaborate closely with technical teams to manage incoming requests, plan and facilitate architecture sessions, lead Scrum ceremonies, and champion Agile best practices. Additional responsibilities include managing tool licensing, maintaining team documentation, and delivering reports and dashboards to support informed decision-making.

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and have a strong technical aptitude, including a general understanding of APIs and software development concepts. Experience using Agile methodologies to drive continuous improvement is essential. This role offers the opportunity to make a broad impact across multiple solution areas while increasing visibility across IT teams.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
  • Coordinate meetings, organize team events, administer products, and perform administrative tasks as needed
  • Triage, prioritize, assign, and manage incoming work requests through completion
  • Plan and schedule architecture working sessions, including agenda development and participant coordination
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Refinement, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives)
  • Ensure adherence to Agile principles and Scrum best practices; identify and remove blockers
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance team performance, processes, and quality
  • Maintain and organize team documentation, ensuring accuracy, conciseness, and completeness
  • Compile data, deliver reports, and create dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
  • Manage and optimize license usage and access for team-managed tools
  • Evaluate technical requests to determine feasibility and identify options that best meet technical needs
Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of related experience in information technology or a comparable analytical role
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies and workflow management tools
  • Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and structured walkthroughs
  • Ability to triage and prioritize requests in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scrum Master and/or Agile coaching experience
  • Experience managing JIRA-based Agile teams and SharePoint knowledge-base sites
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
  • General understanding of API concepts, including REST, event-driven architecture, integration patterns, and API lifecycle management
